Utena
District is located in the North-east of Lithuania
and borders on Anykščiai, Rokiškis, Zarasai,
Ignalina and Molėtai districts. The full area of
Utena District is 1,229 km2 . Its 54,6
inhabitants are 95,7 % Lithuanian, 3,1 % Russian,
0,6 % Polish, 0,2 % Byelorussians and people of
other nationalities. Population is mostly catholic,
there are some ortodox believers and old –
believers.
Utena region is one of the most picturesque and
interesting regions of Lithuania.
